Well it is one year later, and I am feeling guilty for having neglected this blog for so long. Without dwelling on the time between, here are some recent events:
The Naam
This restaurant came highly recommended by my parents who used to come here prior to my existence here on Earth. We went here for our 2 year wedding anniversary. Eclectic menu and relaxed atmosphere with live music.
Tofino
One week after our anniversary, we were off to Ucluelet and Tofino for a 4-day vacation with our friend Steve and his girlfriend Julie. We had a great time, even though the weather wasn't all that nice. It was sunny for our first day, then rainy the next three including two very wet nights camping!
Julie brought a fun game called Rukshuk that we played before heading to Tofino. Sara was a pretty good builder. |
Waiting for the Ferry to depart at Tsawwassen. |
On the road to Ucluelet after taking the ferry to Nanaimo.
We passed lots of logging trucks on our drive through Vancouver Island. |
The view from the backyard of the Blackrock Hotel in Ucluelet |
Surfing lesson! None of us did all that well... |
Natural Hot Springs!! The water was hot like a hot tub, every now and then cold waves from the Pacific Ocean would pour in and splash us |
Orcas! On the boat ride to and from the Hot Springs we saw over a dozen whales including Gray, Orca, and Humpback. On our trip, we also saw sea lions, an otter, jelly fish, and sea stars.
More orcas! |
We took a 2.5 hour kayak tour. It was Julie's and my first time kayaking. |
Vancouver Island has really big trees! We hiked the Rain Forest trail and a few others. |
